Hi, it’s been some time since I updated this blog. I have been away for a while celebrating my time with my family. The important thing to me has always been my family and we should cherish these times together. Now, let us look at a topic that I like to talk about and that is the language for baby shower invitations.

The biggest question that most parents asked would be: What is should be the language used for baby showers invitations? Should I use the language as would a mother speaks? Or should I use the REAL baby language? Well, depending on your personality, you both “extremes” can be used.

In view of the above, allow me to share some principles in writing your invitations:
- Avoid abbreviations: Spell it out, make it clear. Abbreviations can confuse your guests.

- Have specific gifts mentioned: Don’t be shy about it. Just tell them what you (or your baby) wants. It’s better to say it out when to realized that you have been given 5 strollers at the end of the baby showers!

- Have a RSVP, and be specific: “R.S.V.P.” is short for the French “respondez s’il vous plait” which translates to “please respond”. There are two ways to RSVP. You are to respond if you are attending, or respond if you are NOT attending. Some guests thinks that RSVP is only for not going, and so they ended up appearing at the party “uninvited”. So, be sure to write specific how they could RSVP. In short, write it as “Please RSVP if you are attending” instead of “Please RSVP”.

- Give a short programme of the party: This is prepare the parents on what to expect. If you expect the party to be 3 hours long, please specify it so that the parents can prepare 3 hours of stuff for their babies.

OK, that’s all from me so far. Be sure to enjoy the party!

If you’re planning to throw a baby shower soon, you should be able to send out your invites a month before the event. Why do you need to do this? The guests you want to attend may have other plans and you need to inform them early about your party so that they can plan around the date. If you’re not keen on spending a lot on invitations, you can use free printable invites from the internet.

Invitations, although there are nothing more than pieces of cardboard with designs on them, are expensive. Try ordering from a site that sells these in bulk. You will be spending a lot on shipment and printing. If you invest time and effort, you may be able to lessen the costs. But before you go for a complete do-it-yourself, remember that designing your own invitations will also take too much time, and you may just end up with a collection of pixel images that wouldn’t look like a cohesive design. You can do much better using free printables.

What Are Free Printable Baby Shower Invitations?

These invitations are offered by websites in the form of templates. What you do is to download these and save them in your hard drive for editing and printing. Some templates are offered in direct print format (PDF), while others are offered as images (JPG or PNG) that you can edit using an image processor. Any image processor can be used, including MS Paint. You can also use Adobe Photoshop

What Are the Benefits of Using Free Printable Baby Shower Invitations?

You can keep the costs low because one download is equivalent to many printed invitations. As long as you have the ink, you can print the invitation over and over. You can also control what kind of paper you use to print these invitations. Use good quality cardboard, in your theme color: blue if you expect a boy, and pink if you expect a girl.

Why Are These Free?

You may wonder why some people are giving away free printables. This is because the printables may be a part of a promotion for you to sign up for more designs. The free ones may be the ones at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to design quality. These printables companies hope that when you enjoy their free designs, you may also want to use the premium designs, which are usually the ones that really feature the best designs.

A baby shower invitation is not just a piece of cardboard with text scribbled across it. It is an invitation to a special gathering to celebrate a special someone… your baby! Before your baby is born, it is a good idea to round up your family members and friends for a baby shower. It is the time where other moms can pass on advice as well as old toys and clothes to the new mom. It is also the time to share your excitement with each other. The new parents need moral support from family members and friends, and the baby shower is the best time to get that.

There are so many ways to make a baby shower invitation. The most common way is to download a template from an internet site and print it out. You can purchase envelopes separately from a bookstore. You also need printable cardboard to make sure the invitations come out nicely. Use the same cardboard for creating calling cards if you want a nicer quality paper.

To make your baby shower invitation truly unique, here are some things you can do to customize a generic baby shower invitation.

Adding Embellishments

With a bit of creativity, even a simple invitation can look spectacular. Take one invitation that is purchased from a department store. With some more ideas for creating a customized look, you can make your baby shower invitations more beautiful. One idea is to add embellishments. Those who know all about scrapbooking will be familiar with embellishments. These include stickers, beads, glitters and even crystals. Add a dash of sparkle by using lightweight fake crystals. Just be careful about adding more embellishments if you plan on sending the invite over snail mail or special delivery.

Craft Paper

The local craft store will offer a variety of craft papers to choose from. One good material to use for your baby shower invitation is the same material used for scrapbooking. Specialty papers cost more, but they require less designing because of the natural paper’s design.

Stamps and Cutters

Stamps make it easy to put a design on several invitations. Just stamp away! Get one that has the design you want and get stamping. Cutters used for baking usually have nice shapes. You can also use those cutters that are meant for cutting cookies to form the design of your invitation. The edges of the invitation may be shaped using a cutter.
