You should put more thought into your invites if you want your baby shower to be memorable. Many of your guests, including the family members living away from home, will feel more welcomed to attend the party if the invites are created well. Don’t you feel like smiling when you receive a beautifully made invite to a special occasion? Every person will not be able to resist a cute invite, especially to a baby shower.
Traditional baby shower invitations simply have the basics, like a square shape, pastel colors and small designs. While you will undoubtedly use pastel colors yourself, you can create a more unique invitation if you use your creativity.
Choose a Theme
If you know what the gender of the baby is, you can choose a more gender-specific theme. Princesses and Barbie are the first choices if you are having a girl. If you are having a boy, you can go for Old West-style invites or superheroes. There are so many kid-friendly themes that you need to familiarize yourself with. These same themes may crop up time and again when you plan other occasions like birthdays.
If you have no idea whether the baby will be a boy or a girl, you can go for general nursery themes like eggs in baskets, or baby cradles. Most of the invitations offered in bulk in bookstores have these themes. The most prominent design should be about babies or toddlers.
Cut Out a Unique Shape
Many invitation designs follow the shape of the envelope. While you can always go for the usual squares or rectangles, it’s more fun to experiment with shapes. Choose a flower shape if you want to keep it simple. The flower petals can contain the information on venue and other details that your guests need to know. The middle part can be the spot where you feature your main invitation design, like a cradle or a cartoon image of a happy baby. Other ideas include ball-shaped invites, and invitations shaped like a baby’s diaper.
Personalized Invitations
The photo of the latest ultrasound can be featured prominently in your invitation. You can print out the photo several times, depending on how many guests you will be inviting, and write the details of the baby shower on the back. Stuff the photo in a medium-sized envelope and you’re done. You can also use paper photo frames instead of the usual white envelope, especially if you are delivering the invites in person.
