Need some wordings for your baby shower invitations? Here are some that I can think of. (Italics are my comments)

Title of the baby shower invitation:

  • Oh Baby! (Yes, there’s a pun intended)
  • You’re invited to a Baby Shower! (Simple and straight forward)
  • It’s a Baby Shower! (Yet another simple title)
  • Yeah Baby! (A hippy way to start)
  • Baby Cakes! (If you have a baby showers with tons of good food or you are just a good chef, this is a nice starter)
  • The forecast says there’s a baby shower on the way! (An intelligent way to start the title)
  • A baby is a gift from God (Nice to start with if it is a Christian based baby shower, and the pastor is coming!)
  • Come celebrate a gift of love from heaven above (Similar to the above)
  • Come wish [BABY NAME] a Happy Labor Day at her baby shower! (If you want to add the baby’s name, this is a good one)
  • Come wish the best of baby blessings to [BABY NAME]! (Another example of using a baby’s name)
  • Come celebrate the sweet miracle of adoption at [BABY NAME] Baby Shower! (Yet another example of using a baby’s name)
  • [BABY NAME] is doubly blessed! (Ditto)
  • Let’s celebrate [BABY NAME]‘s 3rd week on Earth! (Ditto)

Hi, it’s been some time since I updated this blog. I have been away for a while celebrating my time with my family. The important thing to me has always been my family and we should cherish these times together. Now, let us look at a topic that I like to talk about and that is the language for baby shower invitations.

The biggest question that most parents asked would be: What is should be the language used for baby showers invitations? Should I use the language as would a mother speaks? Or should I use the REAL baby language? Well, depending on your personality, you both “extremes” can be used.

In view of the above, allow me to share some principles in writing your invitations:
- Avoid abbreviations: Spell it out, make it clear. Abbreviations can confuse your guests.

- Have specific gifts mentioned: Don’t be shy about it. Just tell them what you (or your baby) wants. It’s better to say it out when to realized that you have been given 5 strollers at the end of the baby showers!

- Have a RSVP, and be specific: “R.S.V.P.” is short for the French “respondez s’il vous plait” which translates to “please respond”. There are two ways to RSVP. You are to respond if you are attending, or respond if you are NOT attending. Some guests thinks that RSVP is only for not going, and so they ended up appearing at the party “uninvited”. So, be sure to write specific how they could RSVP. In short, write it as “Please RSVP if you are attending” instead of “Please RSVP”.

- Give a short programme of the party: This is prepare the parents on what to expect. If you expect the party to be 3 hours long, please specify it so that the parents can prepare 3 hours of stuff for their babies.
